We have put together some advice on keeping your Jaguar Land Rover vehicle secure for your maximum enjoyment.
Remotely check the lock status of your vehicle via the InControl Remote app.
Firstly, The InControl App is your best tool in preventing and being notified any security breaches of your vehicle. Using your InControl App, you can lock and unlock your vehicle remotely. When installed, both you and Pivotal will receive instant alerts in the event of unauthorised interaction with your vehicle. This will help us to act quickly and hopefully intercept any criminal activity. You can download the latest app versions here:

Always lock or double lock your vehicle. You can double lock your vehicle so even if a thief manages to break a window, they won’t be able to open any doors, thus protecting your vehicle against theft. To do this, simply press the lock button on your keys or InControl App twice. Never Double lock your car when there is someone inside the vehicle.
Safeguard your keys in a faraday pouch.
We supply Pivotal members with faraday pouches which basically act as ‘airplane mode’ for your keys, blocking the radio signals so thieves can’t intercept them. Tech-savvy thieves have expanding their capabilities and in rare circumstances can catch and clone the signal from certain keys.
Don’t leave your key fob unattended.
For example when de-frosting. ‘Frost jacking’ is a term used to describe a type of theft where thieves target vehicles left alone with the engine running. Instances are on the rise and your insurance won’t cover you in these instances so it’s not worth the risk. You can control the climate of your car remotely through the InControl app. This allows you to securely heat or cool your vehicle from your phone, prior to your entry, and protect your Pivotal vehicle against threats of theft.
If you believe your Pivotal vehicle has been stolen:
- Notify the police immediately on 101 to report the incident, and you must obtain a crime reference number. For this call, you will need to have the following details: vehicle registration, make & model, and colour.
- Call our recovery team on +44 (0) 34 5600 4999 and provide them with your crime reference number.
Once you have taken the above steps, we will take over the recovery process and keep you updated on the progress of the situation.
